YORK actress, choreographer and drama teacher Roxanna Klimaszewska is launching Paper Planes and Daisy Chains, theatre-making workshops for “crafty young creatives”, at the Grand Opera House, York.

The workshops for five to 11 year olds will run on Tuesdays, from September 16 to October 21, resuming after half-term from November 4 to 25. Each session will be from 4pm to 5.30pm.

“What distinguishes these workshops from other theatre workshops for children is that they don’t just do acting and singing and dancing,” says Roxanna, co-founder of York theatre and performance art company Six Lips Theatre.

“The children can learn how to ‘make’ theatre, how to create props, costumes and a set , so if they’re not drawn to acting, they can learn other skills too and then develop more confidence for being on stage.”

The children will be building towards a performance of Alice In Wonderland.

Application forms are available at atgtickets/york, on 01904 345671 or via info@paperplanesanddaisychains.co.uk

The cost is £80 for ten sessions, payable by cheque or by cash at the box office.
