CRIME thriller novelist Peter James's murderous new stage hit, The Perfect Murder, is on its way to the Grand Opera House, York, from September 29 to October 4 with an all-star cast.

If you have ever wondered how to commit the perfect murder, James will show you what steps to take in his comedy thriller in which Victor and Joan Smiley's marriage has reached crisis point. Victor has decided there is only one way to remove Joan from his life forever but he is in for a shock.

Soon young detective Roy Grace will be investigating his very first homicide case, but when dark forces intervene, Grace begins to fear that nothing is as it seems in a touring production whose cast includes Robert Daws, Dawn Steele, Gray O'Brien, Simone Armstrong and Yorkshireman Thomas Howes as Grace. Howes is best known for playing William, the footman, in Downton Abbey.
