COMEDY duo Cannon and Ball are to appear with comedian Su Pollard in a new stage production, Ha Ha Hood! And The Prince of Leaves.

The show, a twisted take on the tale of Robin Hood, comes to York on September 26 at 7.30pm, as part of its national tour.

Cannon, who lives on a farm near Selby, will make his first appearance as the evil Sheriff of Nottingham at the Grand Opera House.

The show presents Robin Hood (Ben Langley) and Maid Marion (Su Pollard) tens years after a messy divorce, as they reunite in a fight against the Sheriff of Nottingham. Cannon also takes on the role of Little John, while Bobby Ball doubles up as Friar Tuck and Guy of Gisborne.

Cannon and Ball first appared on television 40 years ago and have been together as a due for 50 years. The Cannon and Ball Show ran for nine years on TV and the pair also have two sitcoms and numerous theatre and pantomime appearances to their name.

Ball has featured alongside Lee Mack in the BBC sit-com Not Going Out.

Pollard joins the duo as a menopausal Marian, having appeared in comedies like You Rang, M’Lord and Oh, Doctor Beeching.

Ha Ha Hood! followers other similarly themed shows including Ha Ha Hitler!, Ha Ha Hamlet! and Ha Ha Holmes!
