IN April and May, selectedYork theatre productions will have audio descriptions and a touch tour of the set, costumes, and props for blind and partially sighted people.

During the performance visitors can receive a description of action facial, expressions and important visual information via headphones.

This is a free service and users get a reduced price for tickets and an escort if a blind concession is mentioned when buying tickets.

At York Theatre Royal (booking office number 01904 623568) the service applies to The Play That Goes Wrong on April 12 at 2.30pm and 7.30pm, Under Milk Wood on April 26 at 2.30pm and 7.30pm and Blithe Spirit on May 30 and 31 at 7.30pm.

At the Grand Opera House (on 01904 678700), the service applies toTonight's The Night on May 3 at 2.30pm, Annie on May 24 at 3pm, and 20th Century Boy on May 31 at 2.30pm.
