ALREADY dreaming of a White Christmas are the members of Tadcaster Theatre Company, who are staging the amateur premiere of the classic musical from November 20 to 23 at 2.30pm and 7.30pm in the town’s Riley-Smith Hall.

Chairman Catherine Marshall said: “It’s quite a coup for the company, who have been staging shows in Tadcaster for 65 years.

“We feel very honoured to be given the rights for the premiere of this all-time great.

“Rehearsals are in full swing for this feel-good family show with music everyone will recognise, including Sisters, Snow, The Best Things Happen While You’re Dancing, I Love a Piano and obviously the most famous song of all, White Christmas.”

Taking the lead role of Phil Davies, played by Danny Kaye in the movie, is Robert Sagar, a native New Yorker who is thoroughly enjoying being part of the team.

“To be able to take the lead in this iconic musical and for it to be a premiere... that’s awesome,” said Robert, who brings to Tadcaster a wealth of experience in roles such as Sam in Crazy For You, Perchik in Fiddler On The Roof and, more recently, Tony in The Boyfriend.
