ANTON Du Beke and Erin Boag are to play York Barbican on the nationwide tour of their new dance show, Anton & Erin Go To Hollywood.
The Strictly Come Dancing stars are on the road for two months of shows that will bring “the king and queen of the ballroom” to York on February 9 for performances at 3pm and 7.30pm.
Promoted by producer Raymond Gubbay, Anton And Erin Go to Hollywood presents the dance duo in a tribute to the golden years of the film musical.
Sassy tunes, spectacular choreography and sparkling costumes will conjure up the fizz and razzmatazz of glamorous Hollywood, performed by Anton and Erin with their trademark charm, wit and ballroom magic.
They will be joined by singer Lance Ellington, guest dancers and a 25-piece orchestra conducted by Richard Balcombe for a programme that will include Strike Up The Band from Strike Up The Band, Everything’s Coming Up Roses from Gypsy and Ah Yes, I Remember It Well from Gigi.
Almost Like Being In Love from Brigadoon, Steppin’ Out With My Baby from Easter Parade and That’s Entertainment from That’s Entertainment will feature too.
Professional partners for more than 17 years, Anton and Erin last performed in York at the Barbican in February 2012, when they celebrated the music of George Gershwin, Irving Berlin Kander & Ebb and Cole Porter in Let’s Do It. Now comes Anton & Erin Go To Hollywood.
“We’re really excited about our new production in what will be our fifth tour of the UK,” says Anton. “Erin and I couldn’t wait to get back on stage, performing the show to our very welcoming audiences at some fantastic venues throughout the country.”
