A model and music video personality who is friends with rappers Lethal Bizzle and Chipmunk has joined the line-up of new reality TV show Survival Of The Fittest.

Mettisse Campbell from Birmingham will replace contestant Tia Latham, who was the first girl to be booted out of the ITV2 show in Monday’s episode.

The 21-year-old said she has joined the programme, which features “a group of young, hot singles living together” in sunny South Africa, because she is hoping to find love and also form new friendships.

She said: “The appeal of the show for me is the experience, I’m really looking forward to making new friends with the girls and then with the boys, whether it’s friendships or relationships.

“I feel like this will be a good place to go and meet people. Hopefully I’ll find love, I do really want a boyfriend.”

The show, from the team behind Love Island, sees the singletons take part in a battle of the sexes, including physical and mental challenges, to compete for a cash prize.

Campbell said she thinks “females are the stronger sex” in life overall, because they are “stronger-minded”, mothers and nurturers.

Of her tactic to succeed, she said: “I am going to be able to manipulate the men which will come in handy.

“I’ve got a flirty personality. I’ll make the men feel a kind of way and try and manipulate certain situations.”

She said her claim to fame is starring in music videos.

She added: “I’m friends with Lethal Bizzle, Chipmunk, Lotto Boyzz. I’ve been in the music video for No Don (remix) with Chip and Not3s and Lotto Boyzz on it. I’ve been in Lethal Bizzle and Donaeo’s video.”

Model Latham, 28, received her marching orders in the latest episode after the girls lost to the boys in the team challenge.

The same episode saw Welsh farmer Lottie James brought in to replace Danny Dyer’s daughter Dani, who was forced to quit the show when she dislocated her shoulder during a challenge.

Survival Of The Fittest is on nightly at 9pm on ITV2.
