The Amazing World Of Gumball was the big winner at the star-studded Children’s Baftas, where the TV show took home two awards.

Cartoon Network’s animated series about a cat named Gumball Watterson won best animation and best writer on Sunday night to take its all-time total awards tally to eight.

CBBC’s Horrible Histories also achieved a grand total of eight wins when it was awarded best comedy for its special Shakespeare episode, at the ceremony at London’s Roundhouse.

Peter Western, an animator and storyboard artist who worked on Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, was presented with a special award for his contribution to children’s media.

Actor Nick James won his first Bafta for his portrayal of Hank Zipzer in the CBBC show of the same name.

Comedian Iain Stirling also saw his debut win for his presenting role in The Dog Ate My Homework, also on CBBC.

Doc Brown, the rapper, hosted the ceremony and presenters included TV chef Gordon Ramsay and his family, naturalist Steve Backshall and presenter Emma Willis.

Former Strictly Come Dancing star Laura Whitmore also went along, as did current contestant Ore Oduba.
