Celebrity Big Brother contestant Katie Waissel has slammed former co-star Christopher Biggins as a “nasty, nasty person” after he offended her with a Holocaust joke.

The 67-year-old pantomime star was removed from the house following three warnings from Big Brother for his remarks on bisexuality and for a comment about gas chambers made to X Factor reject Katie, who is Jewish.

Katie, 30, said her family members were “upset” by his remarks and described Biggins as “disrespectful”.

She told The Sun on Sunday: “My great-grandmother Katie, who I’m named after, and her husband Sydney escaped the concentration camps.

“They were living in Poland and escaped while their town was under siege. It was incredibly difficult for them but luckily they got out. But they lived and breathed the horror of it. It’s very real to me.”

She added: “So there you go, Christopher Biggins, you nasty, nasty person. It’s disrespectful to me, my ancestors and every family who have history tied to this dreadful place.

“They would be horrified I had to listen to him say that. My whole family have been really upset by it.”

The reality TV star, who was the seventh to be evicted from the house, said her mother dubbed his comments a “hate crime”.

Following his exit from the Big Brother house, Biggins revealed he directly apologised to Katie in the house.

“I found Katie and said ‘I am mortified,’” he told The Sun. “‘I would never do anything to upset you. I love you and I’m really sorry.’”

Biggins was not among the former housemates present at the CBB final on Friday night, which saw Ex on the Beach star Stephen Bear crowned the champion of the series.

Channel 5 said in a statement: “Only evicted housemates are invited to attend the final.”
