The makers of The Apprentice have strongly denied candidate Selina Waterman-Smith’s allegations that the show is “fixed”.

In a series of tweets, which she later deleted, the outspoken contestant claimed finalists for the BBC competition are chosen from the beginning of the series.

According to The Sun, the 31-year-old wrote: “The finalists are picked from the start, the whole show is fixed and set up.”

She also called the show’s producers “dreadful” in another post, and described her fellow contestant Charleine Wain, who she previously had a catfight with, as “a complete scumbag”.

An Apprentice spokeswoman said: “The show is in no way ‘fixed’ and we strongly refute any insinuation to the contrary. The final two candidates are decided on by Lord Sugar in the boardroom at the end of episode 11.”

Selina also joked about her fate on the show when she shared a series of photos of her wearing lingerie on Instagram, including one of her pointing at the camera with the caption, “You’re fired”, although these were soon deleted.
