Hollywood marriages are famously fragile, but Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr have bucked the trend – and 13 years after their wedding, Sarah has shared a romantic throwback photo to celebrate the anniversary.
The happy couple wed in Mexico in 2002, and the photo shows them grinning at each other as they share a dance on the big day.
“I love you not only for what you are, but for what I am when I am with you,” the caption reads. “I love you not only for what you have made of yourself, but for what you are making of me” – a line from a poem commonly read at weddings, and attributed to the poet Roy Croft.
The pair met almost two decades ago on the set of I Know What You Did Last Summer, where Sarah starred as Helen Shivers and Freddie played Ray Bronson.
They have two children together – six-year-old Charlotte and three-year-old Rock.
