Queen of the selfie Kim Kardashian reckons her constant social media posts of photos of herself empower her to control her public image.

Reality TV star Kim, who is currently expecting her second child with husband Kanye West, was speaking at the Commonwealth Club of California in San Francisco where she talked about her selfie habit in a Q and A with the audience.

Asked about her selfies, she said: “I’ve taken them. I’ve chosen to put them out there. I like them. I’m proud of them. I think there’s power in that. Even if it’s objectifying myself, I’m ok with that.”

She went on: “I think it’s a matter of opinion. Sometimes the media exploited me but I don’t care, as long as I’m happy and I like the photographer then I don’t care.”

Kim also said that she felt judged by what people saw of her on TV show Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

She said: “I used to film everything but now I’ve stopped doing that. I don’t always share birthdays and I have time with my daughter when she has her breakfast. I’m a workaholic but I make time for my daughter.

“I think that people see this persona on my TV show, there are lots of us on it so I know they like to show all of the funny stuff.

“People think that’s all there is to me. I think there is a stigma but I’m focused and I do what I have to get done. I really don’t care like I used to.”

Kim’s visit was a little controversial because the Commonwealth Club is known for tackling serious topics.
