Michael Douglas has revealed that his marriage with Catherine Zeta-Jones is back on track, after their temporary split.

The couple, who are parents to two children, had a brief break-up in May 2013 but were reconciled by November that same year. They will celebrate their 15th wedding anniversary in November.

The two-time Oscar winner told Event magazine: “We had a little bump in the road. The problem in this business is that everything is so public. I love Catherine as much, more than I ever have. And hopefully the feeling’s mutual.

“We worked things out – if both people want to work something out and make it better, you can do it. You can’t do it if it’s just one person.”

Michael – who next stars in Marvel’s Ant-Man as scientist Dr Hank Pym – also said he regretted the embarrassment he caused his wife after claiming that his cancer was caused by performing oral sex.

He made headlines after making his comment while promoting his Emmy-winning role as flamboyant musician Liberace in Steven Soderbergh’s Behind The Candelabra in 2013.

“It was one of those things… and I so regretted any embarrassment that it caused Catherine and her family,” the 70-year-old actor said.
