Emma Stone has admitted she turned down an offer to star in the all-female Ghostbusters.
Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy have signed up for director Paul Feig’s reboot, which is due out next year.
Emma, 26, who starred in The Amazing Spider-Man and the sequel, told The Wall Street Journal that she did not want to commit to another big franchise.
“The script was really funny,” the Birdman actress said.
“It just didn’t feel like the right time for me. A franchise is a big commitment — it’s a whole thing. I think maybe I need a minute before I dive back into that water.”
She said that she would like to play a crazy or dangerous character, and maybe even a villain in future.
