Lady Victoria Hervey has tried to play down any apparent rivalry with her co-contestant on The Jump Jodie Kidd.
Model Jodie crashed out of the Channel 4 celebrity winter sports contest a day earlier than the socialite, who was eliminated last night, and complained about Lady Victoria’s “nasty” competitive streak, adding: “It’s not the Olympics, love.”
But Lady Victoria objected: “No, I was never competitive with Jodie. I think that was just completely taken out of context.
“I don’t even want to talk about it, it’s just a waste of time. I think she’s battling her own demons right now.”
The pair had been up against each other in the Snow Cross event at the show’s base in Austria and Lady Victoria said she had noticed her competitor trying to take her down.
She said: “I saw this octopus arm coming out, and I was like, ‘Oh my god’. I just managed to get around her. There was something a little f***ed up, some of the quotes saying I said that I was faster than her. I did say that, but that was after she told me that she was going to bring me down.
“She said that she was going to grab me and take me down, so that’s when I said, ‘Well don’t worry, I’m faster than you, I’ll get through’.”
Lady Victoria also added that she was not dating anyone at the moment and that there hadn’t been quite as social an atmosphere on this series of The Jump as last year when it debuted.
She explained: “My love life has been on standstill while I’ve been here. There hasn’t been much apres ski in Austria.
“I think this year was very different to last year from what I hear. We’ve all just been really focussed.”
The Jump continues on Channel 4 tonight at 8pm.
