Shia LaBeouf has opened up about his arrest this summer.

The Fury actor, 28, has been treated for alcoholism after pleading guilty to disorderly conduct stemming from an incident at Broadway show Cabaret earlier this year.

The troubled former child star told Jimmy Kimmel Live how he tried to get himself out of the cell, where there were six other men, after being arrested, because he was frightened.

"I get to the station and I quickly realise, I'm not supposed to be here. I'm not made for this set up...

"So I'm like, 'You gotta do something. You gotta do something, man. You're gonna die in here.' So I turn into (rapper) Tupac and now I'm ripping my shirt off and doing push-ups like, 'Don't mess with me dawg.' And the guy's like, 'What are you in here for?' And I'm like, Cabaret!"

"So then they fingerprint me, they do the whole business, and I'm like, 'I gotta get out of this little cell with these six dudes. I'm tripping.' So I figured I'm gonna spit on this cop's shoe, that's my way out."

Shia was led away to his own room, but was forced to wear a "Hannibal" restraint mask.

He later publicly apologised for spitting on the officer's shoe.
