Emma Stone is reported to be in negotiations star in Cabaret on Broadway.

The Amazing Spider-Man actress is said to be in talks to take over from Michelle Williams in the starring role of Sally Bowles at Studio 54.

Emma's representative confirmed to the New York Daily News: "Emma Stone is in negotiations to make her Broadway debut as Sally Bowles in Cabaret on Broadway at Roundabout Theatre Company.

"Michelle Williams recently extended her run as Sally Bowles opposite Alan Cumming as Emcee through November 9."

The Tony award-winning production, directed by Sam Mendes and Rob Marshall, is set to run until January 2015.

Emma, 25, was previously set to join the production in 2013 but dropped out due to scheduling difficulties.

Cabaret - adapted from the novel Goodbye To Berlin by Christopher Isherwood - was famously made into a film in 1972, which scooped eight Oscars, including best actress for Liza Minnelli in the role of Sally.

Sally Bowles is a young English performer who enters a relationship with an American writer while living in Berlin in the 1930s.
