The Hunger Games stars have shared an emotional group hug to mark the end of filming on the franchise.

Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth and the cast and crew wrapped shooting on the final instalment Mockingjay Part 2 in Berlin.

Producer Nina Jacobson posted a picture of the stars' emotional embrace on Twitter with the caption: "That's a wrap. Thank you Suzanne Collins. Thank you Francis Lawrence. Thank you HG Fans. Other than that, I'm speechless."

British actor Sam Claflin, who joined the cast as Finnick Odair in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire also took to Twitter to express his feelings about filming coming to an end.

Sam tweeted: "I just want/need to express my many thanks to everyone (cast, crew & fans) who have worked so hard for so long to make The Hunger Games experience what it is. But for also trusting me enough to let me be part of it.

"I feel privileged, honoured and so very lucky to have shared this opportunity with so many passionate & talented people. #dreamjob."

Mockingjay Parts 1 and 2 - the final instalments in the dystopian action films based on Suzanne Collins' young adult novels - has been taking place back-to-back in the US and Europe since the beginning of the year.

The production was hit by tragedy in February when Philip Seymour Hoffman, who played Plutarch Heavensbee in the franchise, died of a drug overdose.

Mockingjay: Part 1 is due to be unveiled in November, with Part 2 to be released in 2015.
