Game Of Thrones star Maisie Williams has admitted it feels "mad" to be recognised all over the world after the show has become such a global hit.

Maisie, who plays tomboyish noblewoman Arya Stark, and co-star Joe Dempsie, who plays heir to the throne Gendry, attended a party in London to celebrate the launch of Game Of Thrones on Blinkbox.

Maisie, 16, said of the fantasy show's success: "It's crazy! I look on Twitter and there's people from Argentina. It's just mad.

"I went to Amsterdam and Poland this year, and just the amount of people taking photos and the flashes, it's weird. I kind of expected it in America, but it's mad when you go so far away and people know your name!"

Joe joked: "You can't understand half your tweets. They're all in Spanish!"

Arya lives in disguise as a boy to protect herself and on set Maisie spends all her time looking dishevelled and covered in mud. She recently revealed on Twitter that she had been mistaken for a homeless person.

She said: "When I'm in my make-up, I went over to the shop and there were so many people giving me sympathetic looks. It's kind of sad!"
