Al Pacino is set to return to Broadway later this year.

The Hollywood actor will play the role of Shelly Levene in Glengarry Glen Ross in a revival the marks the 30th anniversary of David Mamet's Pulitzer Prize-winning play about the backbiting world of salesmen.

The Oscar-winner, who played the role of Ricky Roma in a 1992 film version of the same play, was last on Broadway as Shylock in The Merchant Of Venice, earning a Tony nomination.

Previews of Glengarry Glen Ross will start on October 16 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre and an opening night has been set for November 11.

This is the second revival of the play on Broadway and it will be directed by Daniel Sullivan, who directed Pacino in The Merchant Of Venice.
