McFly's Tom Fletcher has confessed he broke down in tears at his wedding to childhood sweetheart Giovanna Falcone.

The 26-year-old singer and the 27-year-old actress are currently enjoying their honeymoon in St Lucia after tying the knot in front of friends, family and Tom's McFly bandmates earlier this month.

Tom revealed to OK! magazine how seeing Giovanna walk down the aisle to Over The Rainbow, which was played on the violin by Harry Judd's fiancee Izzy Johnston, he burst into tears.

He said: "I just lost it. I'm such a crier. We both cried during the proposal, I had a lump in my throat but I just about managed to get through it."

Guests at the wedding included former EastEnders star Kara Tointon, who was a bridesmaid, TOWIE star Mario Falcone - who is Giovanna's brother, Fearne Cotton and her partner Jesse Wood, and Busted star Matt Willis and his wife Emma.

All three of Tom's bandmates Harry, Dougie Poynter and Danny Jones were best men at the ceremony and enjoyed making the groom cringe with their cheeky speech.

Their jokes included asking for a separate round of applause for Tom's chin and telling a story about how Tom auditioned for boy band Busted before being in McFly, but was turned down.

Dougie confronted former Busted star Matt Willis and teased: "Maybe Matt can tell us why!"

But the speech ended with a romantic toast to the happy couple. Harry said: "When people talk about childhood sweethearts, Tom and Gi are the genuine article."

Danny added: "We'd like to finish off by saying that you two bring out the best in each other. People say that opposites attract but you disprove that. You really are the best of mates and that's why we know that this true love story will last forever."
