Louis Walsh has apparently said he's not sure he will return for a tenth series of X Factor.

The Irish judge is set to sit on the panel of the talent show for the ninth time but said he won't make it to the tenth series if he doesn't impress TV mogul Simon Cowell, who will be "cracking the whip" this year, reports The Sun.

He said: "I really don't know if I'll make it to ten.

"If I work hard, I'll get the job. If not, Simon will let me go. It's going to be hard work this year, really hard work. Simon will be cracking the whip."

Louis added that "nobody is safe to stay".

The 59-year-old will be judging wannabe pop stars alongside Tulisa and Gary Barlow. It isn't known who will fill the fourth seat at the table although there have been rumours that Dannii Minogue could be set to return.

Dannii was popular with viewers and ITV executives are apparently hoping her potential return would help the show as it battles with the BBC's The Voice.
