Shameless creator Paul Abbott has released the first trailer for his new series, No Offence.
It is a Manchester-set crime drama that stars Joanna Scanlan, Alexandra Roach, Colin Salmon, Will Mellor and Paul Ritter, combining family saga with cop action.
The series will run for eight episodes on Channel 4, featuring Joanna as DI Vivienne Deering, Elaine Cassidy as DC Dinah Kowalska and Alexandra as DS Joy Freers.
Paul, who also wrote Cracker, State Of Play and Clocking Off, had previously said: “I’m a big fan of well-told cop shows and jet-black social comedy, and I wanted to see how explosively we could bang two genres’ heads together.
“No Offence is reared on wilder-than-average seeds, and I’ve had a ball with the AbbottVision team in building this concept.”
No Offence is set to air later on this year.
