The Osmonds, Can’t Get There Without You (Osmonds Entertainment) ****

THERE wasn’t a dry eye in the house at the end of The Osmonds’ recent show at York Barbican. Brothers Merrill, Jay and Jimmy sang their extensive back catalogue and showcased a few new tunes from this farewell album.

Lest we forget, in their prime The Osmonds were the biggest pop band in the world since The Beatles, and for many hold a cherished place. Can’t Get There Without You is a lovingly prepared and executed goodbye gift to the loyal fans who grew up to the sounds of Crazy Horses and Love Me For A Reason.

In turn, sister Marie, and Jimmy’s daughter Sophia, collaborate. For many, the highlight of the set will be Remember Me, in which the trimmed-down version of The Osmonds reunite for the very last time with Alan, Wayne and Donny.
