WELSH sextet Lostprophets have had a bang on the head and regained consciousness as Green Day. Always flirting round the mainstream, their fifth studio album continues the crowd-pleasing, rock-by-numbers approach that has worked for so many of their American contemporaries.

Opener Bring ‘Em Down has a sharp short verse building into a catchy chorus – a winning formula that is brought out across the ten tracks. Repetitive, and largely unoriginal, it will still appeal to the EMO brigade and while Lostprophets are beginning to look more like a boy band than rock outlaws, there are enough pleasing aspects to keep the record sales rolling in.
