RICHARD and Linda Thompson, who split up while acrimoniously touring Shoot Out The Lights in the early 1980s, are reunited, musically at least, by their son.

For this family outing, Teddy Thompson gathers together the clan – Richard and Linda, alongside Kami (daughter), her husband James Walbourne, Jack Thompson (Teddy’s brother) and Zak Hobbs, Richard’s grandson.

Teddy opens with his wry country song Family, in which he praises his parents, and ponders his situation (“And I am betwixt and between, Sean Lennon, you know what I mean”).

Richard contributes two robust numbers, One Life At A Time and That’s Enough, while Linda offers the delightful Bonny Boys and Perhaps We Can Sleep.

Kami and James play their part with the Fleetwood Mac-esque Careful and the closing I Long For Lonely.

Not everything hangs together, and the parents make the strongest contributions, but it’s a fruitful family affair.
