NAMED after the address of Robin Gibb’s first home in Douglas on the Isle of Man, the ninth and final solo album from the former Bee Gee is finally available.

Robin’s widow, Dwina, and son, R-John Gibb, have curated and supplied extensive sleeve notes for a set of songs perhaps intended for another project or simply overlooked initially.

Mostly recorded between 2008 and 2009, this reflective and autobiographical album also includes a fresh interpretation of The Bee Gees’ first B-side from 1966, I Am The World, and the last song Robin worked on in 2012, Sydney. This ballad, a reminiscence on childhood days with brothers Barry, Maurice and Andy in Australia, and Alan Freeman Days, which reflects on the author’s love of the former Radio Luxembourg presenter, conjure similar emotive feelings as Rod Stewart’s retrospective Time songbook.

Indeed, with Gibb not being with us to promote this patchy, although at times inspired valedictory, Mr Stewart may consider covering the bagpipe-driven anthem Days Of Wine And Roses.
