SINGER, songwriter, producer and rapper Example has created an album to soundtrack the summer for millions of clubbers and first-time-without-the-family holidaymakers.

Taking six or seven notes and repeating them over a pumping beat while spouting happy-go-lucky phrases is the staple of sunny summer dance festivals or Balearic clubs, and Live Life Living is going to take them by storm. The problem isn’t the content, rather the sheer blandness of it all and the familiarity. There’s nothing here that you could pinpoint as sounding new, and more than a couple are throwbacks to Nineties one-hit Europop wonders like Haddaway or Corona.

More interesting are 10 Million People and Seen You, while Can’t Face The World Alone begins almost like a Smiths song before segueing into another generic dance tune. The title track and All The Wrong Places are pulsing, frantic efforts with peaks and drops carefully calculated to ensure maximum audience bouncing. It’s all well crafted, guaranteed to go down a storm and will sell millions but is painfully generic.
