The deliciously titled Unrepentant Geraldines is the latest of fourteen studio albums from unquestionably one of the most prolific artists of her generation.

Indeed, since her last album from 2012 Gold Dust, Tori collaborated with the Royal National Theatre on the full scale musical The Light Princess, and as an artist who forever seems to be on the road Ms Amos is one of the few artists to have headlined over 1000 concerts.

After her forays into musical theatre and recent flirtations with Chamber music, Unrepentant Geraldines is a welcome return to home territory and the genre of material which has granted her such a loyal and responsive audience over the past 22 years.

Consisting mostly of narrative story songs inhabited by quirky misfits and lost souls, such as Maids of Elfen-Mere and Giant’s Rolling Pin the album will be a rich feast for devotees. Musically and lyrically, the parallels with Kate Bush are still apparent. But that has always been part of the Amos charm anyway.
