But expectations for the Glee cast are so much higher. Lest we forget, thanks to digital downloads, the Glee cast have scored more than 200 US Billboard hits, just eclipsing Elvis Presley, and thus becoming officially the single act with the most hit singles in America.
Add to this 16 hit albums and a mega TV series. More to the point Lea Michele proved to be the biggest star of her class.
Surprisingly, Louder has mostly met with little fanfare and general public indifference. Scanning the considerable list of writers and producers, the album appears to be a corporate product, but sadly without a soul.
Michele’s apparent aspirations to corner the Kelly Clarkson/P!nk market are misguided, misjudged and wrong. Everyone who loved her performance as Rachel Berry knows she is destined to become the Streisand of her generation, so why waste her time?
