“The Next Big Thing” is a well known game of the press. Well, I can reveal that the saviours of modern day rock “n” soul are Vintage Trouble, and if there’s any justice this band will be very, very big!

Formed in California in 2010 and after just two weeks rehearsals they started playing shows around LA. In early 2011 they played their first shows in the UK. This was followed by an appearance on Later...with Jools Holland and they became an overnight sensation!

For a highly charged full house at Fibbers these cool dudes took to the stage and rocked the house with their supercharged riffs and fantastic melodies. They reminded me of a modern take of James Brown backed by a young, blues driven Led Zeppelin. Lead singer Ty is a charismatic front man ably assisted by the rest of the band and they delivered a brilliant set . They moved around the stage as though they own it (Ty even descending into the audience at random times), relaxed in their ability and confidence. Stand out tracks included Blues Hand Me Down, You Better Believe It and Get It.

It was hot, sweaty and packed, yet the crowd knew they were watching something special and lapped up the energetic 2 hour performance.

Vintage Trouble came to my ears last year via debut album “The Bomb Shelter Sessions”, and that was magnificent. Live, they delivered one of the best performances I’ve ever seen.
