DALBY Forest is staging two Forestry Commission Live Music woodland concerts this summer: Will Young on June 29 and Plan B on June 30.

Ticket sales are “good” for both shows, although they remain on sale for pop darling Young at £35 and London soul boy and rapper Plan B at £32. A booking fee will be administered when you phone 03000 680400 or book online at forestry.gov.uk/music, and money raised from the concerts will go towards caring for woods in North Yorkshire.

Young last played on North Yorkshire soil in November 2009 at Harrogate International Centre. Last year the Berkshire soul singer, songwriter and actor enjoyed a sold-out British tour, platinum sales of his chart-topping fifth studio album, Echoes, and a Saturday-night audience of more than five million for A Night With Will Young on ITV in August.

Plan B released his debut hip-hop album, Who Needs Actions When You Got Words, in 2006 and went stellar with the 2010 follow-up, The Defamation Of Strickland Banks, his soul-infused account of the journey of a man who finds success hard to handle and then hits rock bottom.

“It’s going to be a real adventure taking the Plan B show into the woods” says the singer, songwriter, rapper, actor and film director, whose real name is Ben Drew.
