Ripley Castle will be the setting for a series of classical, opera, West End and Proms shows for the Christmas season, staged by classical music maestro and promoter Raymond Gubbay, from December 1 to 4.
White Rose Festivals will transform the spacious castle courtyard into a magical auditorium with seating for 1,600 people, all under cover, carpeted and heated.
You can either enjoy the social atmosphere and drinks in the winter foyer bar or spoil yourself by booking a VIP dining package in the castle or east wing before the show.
The four-day programme will open on December 1 with The Four Seasons By Candlelight, a lavish evening of baroque classics, crowned by Vivaldi’s masterpiece, performed in full 18th century costume.
On December 2, A Night At The Opera will feature a selection of best-loved arias and music from La Traviata, I Pagliacci, Carmen, The Barber Of Seville, Faust, Aida and La Boheme.
In The Sound Of Musicals on December 3, stars from London’s West End will perform show-stopping hits from My Fair Lady, Cabaret, The Phantom Of The Opera, Chicago, West Side Story, Mamma Mia! and many more. Among the singers will be Sally Ann Triplett, who has played Roxy Hart in Chicago at the Adelphi Theatre, London.
The festival will conclude on December 4 with the Ripley Castle Winter Proms, a night of the classics with a grand British finale that will include Rule, Britannia! and Land Of Hope And Glory.
