THE Sockits will top the September 11 bill at The Duchess in York at “a gig to say goodbye to everyone moving on to higher education”.
New to the York circuit, The Sockits are a rock four-piece whose jump-along live sets combine experimental songs with covers.
Fine & Dandy, a cheeky acoustic duo with smart lyrics, open the 7.30pm show; next comes a special guest still to be confirmed, followed by Lazy Sundays, an alternative indie band previously named Speakeasy, and Thrive, an indie rock four-piece with a liking for tight riffs and pummelling drum beats.
Doors open at 7pm; entry is £5, which includes entry to the club night for over-18s after The Sockits’ set. ID is a must, and anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
