young artistic talent from York will unite to raise money for disabled children in the city through a one-off charity concert for SNAPPY on September 4.
The 7.30pm programme at the Joseph Rowntree Theatre, York, will feature singers, dancers and musicians aged 14 to 23 from drama schools, theatre companies and music academies, such as Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts and Central School of Speech and Drama in London, and the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts, Paul McCartney’s school in his home city.
SNAPPY, the Special Needs Activities and Play Provision for York charity, provides not only activities for disabled children but also respite for families.
“One hundred per cent of the profits raised are going to SNAPPY, and all the acts and organisers involved are volunteering by purely doing what they love to raise as much money as possible for the charity,” says publicist Rebekah Lewis.
“It’s an opportunity for the city to come together and support disabled children in York.”
