HELMSLEY rock band One Night Only played at the Yorkshire Showcase at the prestigious South By South West (SXSW) festival in Austin, Texas, yesterday.

Their appearance at the British Music Embassy marked their return to live activity on their first visit to the United States, giving them a chance to introduce songs from their newly finished follow-up to Top Ten debut album Started A Fire.

SXSW is arguably the most important American music industry conference for breaking British talent and has helped to launch the careers of fellow Yorkshire acts Corinne Bailey Rae and Kaiser Chiefs.

One Night Only were joined at yesterday's showcase by Slow Club and 65 Days Static from Sheffield and Middleman and Pulled Apart By Horses from Leeds.
