YORK tribute act Clash City Rockers will play a fundraising gig at The Victoria Vaults, Nunnery Lane, York, on May 25 in aid of Kitchen for Everyone York (KEY).
Band member Nick West, who has organised this charity event, says: "It's free entry but there'll be buckets on the door for donations for Kitchen for Everyone.
"Run by volunteers, the organisation relies totally on donations to provide meals to the homeless and vulnerable of York on Tuesday evenings from 6.30pm to 8pm and Sunday mornings from 8am to 9.30am at the Spurriergate Centre. There's a Saturday evening outreach programme too, and KEY also supplies sleeping bags, warm clothing and toiletries."
Doors open at 7pm for Clash City Rockers' 9pm set featuring a line-up of Nick West and Tom Bilton, on guitar and vocals, Jim Denson, on bass and vocals, and Paul Hatfield, drums and vocals.
"We're a four-piece tribute to the greatest rock'n'roll band ever: The Clash," says Nick. "We play all the classics as they should be played – loud and with passion."
