AMERICAN acoustic bluesman Eric Bibb plays Pocklington Arts Centre's 17th sold-out event of 2018 on Monday night at 8pm.

Since making his recording debut with Ain't It Grand in 1972, Bibb has released 35 further albums while enjoying a non-stop touring schedule spanning five decades.

Along the way he has recorded and performed with such luminaries as Pops and Mavis Staples, Guy Davis, Bonnie Raitt, Toumani Diabate and Jerry Douglas.

"A progressive preservationist and a fiery singer with true soul, gospel and folk roots, it will be an honour to welcome Eric Bibb back to the stage in Britain for his Spring 2018 tour," says Pock Arts Centre general manager Janet Farmer.

Henning Wehn: new material

The 15th and 16th sold-out Pock shows take place on Thursday and Friday at 8pm when Henning Wehn, the German Comedy Ambassador for Teutonic Jolliness, presents Das Neuen Materialen Nachten.

That title translates as "the new materials nights". "So expect plenty of new ideas amid some old favourites," says Janet. "Some might call it work-in-progress but Henning prefers to describe it as masterpiece-under-construction."
