HEATHER Findlay may play a home-city show only rarely, but tomorrow night the York singer and songwriter will present a one-off Snowstorms and Icicles Winter Concert at York Central Methodist Church.

Heather's quartet will not be alone. In support will be York duo Odin Dragonfly, featuring Mostly Autumn flautist and keyboard player Angela Gordon, preceded by the up-and-coming Scarlett Gordon, who will open the 7.30pm bill.

In a stripped-back performance for this intimate winter event, Findlay, on lead vocals, acoustic guitar and woodwind, will be joined by Sarah Dean, on the harp, piano, flute and woodwind, Martin Ledger, on numerous guitars, and newest member Joska de Langen, on piano, flute and acoustic guitar.

York Press:

Heather Findlay's winter album, I Am Snow

Tomorrow's concert marks the first anniversary of Heather’s winter album, I Am Snow. "We loved performing the folkier material from I Am Snow last winter and have actually just made a new recording of another couple of traditional tunes: Gaudete, which went down an absolute storm last year, and the gorgeous ballad The Snows They Melt The Soonest, which we’ve only just worked into the live set," she says.

"I love having a band where everyone swaps and changes instruments and this line-up is no different with Sarah picking up flute for 'The Snows' and Joska playing acoustic guitar on a few numbers too. The new record will be available on the night. Copies will also be up for grabs leading up to Christmas, and as a download too, so please keep your eye on my website, heatherfindlay.co.uk, for details."

Tickets cost £10 at heatherfindlay.co.uk or £12 on the door from 7pm.
