YORK singer-songwriter Beth McCarthy is to head out on her Outline Tour this autumn, opening at The Bedford in London on November 1 and wrapping up her travels back in her home city on November 25.

The itinerary also takes in Bilton Working Men’s Club in Harrogate on November 3 and Hyde Park Book Club in Leeds on November 21 in the wake of the October 20 release of Beth’s new single, Mr And Mrs Brown. Already she has delivered the singles Pretty Lies and Lemonade earlier this year.

Beth has made her mark on the concert and festival circuit too with her pop and indie folk songs, her passion for storytelling and her exuberant personality in performance, and her vocal style has drawn comparison with Ellie Goulding and KT Tunstall.

In her seven years of performing, she has toured Britain with her acoustic guitar, playing numerous festivals such as Latitude and the Platform Festival in Pocklington, as well as support slots for ELO, Heaven 17 and Nizlopi.

At only 16, Beth’s “blind” audition on BBC One’s talent show The Voice was viewed by more than ten million people as she went on to reach the knockout stages of the competition as part of Team Ricky Wilson from Kaiser Chiefs.

In 2016, Beth’s burgeoning career reached new heights when her stripped-back rendition of Ralph McTell’s Streets Of London was chosen as the official soundtrack for the film 100 Streets starring Idris Elba. She headed off to United States, performing on the cable TV show JBTV and playing shows in Chicago and Florida.

Hailed by BBC Radio 2 presenter Bob Harris as “a new name for 2017”, Beth had a stellar start to the year when her debut self-released single Pretty Lies reached number two in the iTunes singer/songwriter chart. Her follow-up single, Lemonade, was announced as the promotional song for Worldwide Breast Cancer’s Know Your Lemons campaign, with all proceeds from sales going to the charity. Again the song registered in the singer/songwriter chart.

Now come her autumn dates and the promise of two singles set for release later in the year through Ont’ Sofa Records.
