THE Libertines are to play Scarborough Spa Grand Hall on September 26 on their Tiddeley Om Pom Pom Tour as part of "a unique run of shows that will only be performed at seven British seaside towns".

Tickets for the London four-piece of Peter Doherty, Carl Barât, John Hassall and Gary Powell go on pre-sale at 9am today and general sale from 9am tomorrow at £30 at scarboroughspa.co.uk or on 01723 821888.

Fans should expect an intimate performance, giving them the chance to see The Libertines "like they’ve never seen them before", as vocalist and guitarist Barât affirms. "We're looking for a home, one roof for the many-splendoured trappings of Arcady, a factory, with a guest house, bar and studio," he says. "We do like to be beside the seaside and we hope to find that home on this tour. Watch this space.”

The Libertines released their third album, Anthems For Doomed Youth, in September 2015, after an 11-year hiatus. Recorded in Thailand, it entered the British charts at number three in a year when Doherty, Barât and co headlined Leeds Festival at Bramham Park, near Wetherby and also played T In The Park and festivals in France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Russia, Spain, Mexico, the Netherlands and Hong Kong on the comeback trail.

Already this year, they have performed seven British arena shows in January; festivals dates are booked for the summer, including Tramlines at Sheffield on July 21, and the band are working on their fourth album.

This autumn's seaside tour will take in a second Yorkshire gig at Hull Arena on September 23.
