JUSTIN Currie & The Pallbearers play Pocklington Arts Centre on May 29, a fortnight after the release of his fourth solo album, This Is My Kingdom Now.

Issued through Endless Shipwreck Records on May 12, the album comprises My Name Is God; Fallen Trees; This Is My Kingdom Now; Sydney Harbour Bridge; Crybabies; Failing To See; The Dead Sea; Abandoned Sons; Hey Polly; I Love The Sea; I’ll Leave It To You; Two People and My Soul Is Stolen.

Currie, the 52-year-old Del Amitri frontman, released his previous solo record, Lower Reaches, in 2013, preceded by The Great War in 2010 and What Is Love For in 2007.

Currie, who "lives and breathes in Glasgow, collects beer mats and makes his own cushions", has been the main songwriter in Del Amitri since 1983. He  wrote such hits as Roll To Me, Always The Last To Know and Nothing Ever Happens as his band notched up five top ten albums. After a decade-long hiatus, the Scots reunited for The A to Z Of Us tour in 2014.
