NOTHING But Thieves play Fibbers in York on Tuesday on the last night of a series low-key gigs to herald their second album, Broken Machine.

Recorded at Ranch Studios in California with producer Mike Crossey, who has worked previously with The 1975, Foals, Arctic Monkeys and Twenty One Pilots, this sophomore release will be out on September 8 on RCA.

First single Amsterdam marks the Southend alt.rock band’s return in the form of a huge soaring rock anthem. “It was inspired by our love of direct, guttural choruses,” say Nothing But Thieves. “It’s like Conor [Mason] is spitting the words in your face. It’s visceral and has momentum but also this beautiful moment in the middle which feels like a break in a sea storm.

“We didn’t have all the pieces before going into the studio and this was one of the tracks that really came alive during the recording progress. It pretty much demanded to be our first song back”.

Nothing But Thieves have experienced an epic journey over the past 18 month, going from playing to a handful of friends in Essex to sold-out shows across the country, Muse tours and festival headline slots in Europe, the United States and even South Korea.
