POST-PUNK pioneers The Monochrome Set play The Crescent Community Venue, in The Crescent, York, on Saturday (May 27).

Formed in 1978, they split in 1985 but re-grouped full time in 2010, since when they have toured all over Britain, Europe, Japan and the United States and released four albums, the latest being last September's Cosmonaut on the German label Tapete.

Original members Bid, guitar and vocals, and Andy Warren, bass, are on the road with keyboards player John Paul Moran and drummer Mike Urban, playing York this weekend with support from St. Christopher and Refuel on the 7.30pm bill.
