ALL Saints, the re-formed Nineties' girl band, are to play York Racecourse on Music Showcase Saturday after the afternoon races on July 29.

This completes the pop calendar for 2017 at the Knavesmire course where Olly Murs and Jess Glynne are confirmed already for raceday concerts on July 1 and July 28 respectively.

The All Saints line-up of Melanie Blatt, Shaznay Lewis and Natalie and Nicole Appleton was one of the most successful pop groups of the 1990s with two multi-platinum albums and record sales in excess of 12 million worldwide. The London group's 1997 debut album, All Saints, went quintuple platinum and produced three number one singles, the double BRIT award-winning Never Ever, Under The Bridge/Lady Marmalade and Bootie Call.

Further hits followed with War Of Nerves in 1998 and the chart-topping Pure Shores and Black Coffee in 2000 and All Hooked Up in 2001, off their number one second album, 2000's Saints & Sinners. Rock Steady gave them their last top three single success, off album number three, Studio 1, in 2006.

Last April, the reunited All Saints returned with their first studio album in ten years, Red Flag, which peaked at number three and was preceded by the single One Strike, inspired by Nicole’s divorce from former Oasis singer Liam Gallagher.

James Brennan, head of marketing and sponsorship at York Racecourse, says: "Everyone at the course is really excited now that we have finalised an exciting music act that will sit alongside our races. I’m delighted that we will be welcoming Melanie, Shaznay, Natalie and Nicole to York. This year’s music line-up offers performers who have been stars across two decades and promises to be a real treat. Add in the spectacle of the racing itself and we hope these will prove summer days to savour."
