FOR their first Last Fridays concert of the 2017 season, York Unitarians welcome gifted young pianist Matthew Palmer to the St Saviourgate Unitarian Chapel in York on March 24.
And yes, the eagle-eyed will have spotted that March 24 is not the final Friday of the month. "We were so keen to get our popular recital series under way, we haven’t waited until the last Friday," says Adrienne Wilson.
Palmer is a graduate of the University of York, where he worked to develop his technique and expand his repertoire. While teaching and accompanying in Yorkshire and Lancashire, he is now working for an LRSM exam, studying with Nicky Losseff.
His 12.30pm recital features a "varied sound world, from the complexity and intricacy of a Bach fugue to the beauty and delicacy of a Berceuse by Chopin, concluding with two works by Liszt".
Tickets cost £6, concessions £4, on the door.
