YORK musicians Gaudete and The Poppuleles and the Wetherby Methodist Music Group will present A Concert For Kenya on Saturday at Poppleton Methodist Church Hall, York.

Proceeds from the 7.30pm programme of light faith and secular music will go to the Tearfund Project in aid of village development in Kenya, and tickets are on sale at £7 on 01904 795826 or via email sent to john.middleton50@ntlworld.com.

Gaudete duo Sylvie-D and Joshua Kohlmann will perform a range of Afro-American and Caribbean-influenced music with visual interpretation in the first half; the Wetherby Methodist Music Group will lead a range of worship songs and music and The Poppuleles - all members of The Yorkuleles and Poppleton Methodist Church - will play a few lively popular numbers.

Gaudete raised £363.28 for The Ruach Project and Yorkshire Air Ambulance from last year's Winter Warmer Concert. City of York Council has approved The Ruach Project's plans for the redevelopment of Poppleton Methodist Church and Hall and the next major phase of fund-raising is under way.
