ALT-J are to release their third album, Relaxer, on June 9 through Infectious Music.
The band, who formed in Leeds in their university days, recorded the album sessions all over London, from Shoreditch to St John's Wood, Crouch Hill to Brixton, working with producer Charlie Andrew for a third time. Opening track 3WW is available to stream and download at alt-j.lnk.to/3wwPR as a taster of what lies in store on heavyweight vinyl, CD, cassette and digital formats.
Alt-J's album sleeve for Relaxer
The full track listing will be 3WW; In Cold Blood; The House Of The Rising Sun; Hit Me Like That Snare; Deadcrush; Adeline; Last Year and Pleader for the follow-up to 2014's chart-topping, Grammy and BRIT Award-nominated This Is All Yours and 2012's Mercury Prize and Ivor Novello Award-winning debut An Awesome Wave. Between them, the two records have sold in excess of two million copies and their songs have been streamed more than one billion times.
Alt-J's Joe Newman, Gus Unger-Hamilton and Harrogate-raised drummer Thom Green are to play a heap of European festival dates this summer, preceded by a June 16 show as part of London O2 Arena's tenth anniversary celebrations, for which tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday via altjband.com. No Yorkshire gigs are on the horizon, alas.
