NEWTON Faulkner will round off the long-running campaign for his  Human Love album by touring Britain and Europe as the special guest on Amy Macdonald's tour. March 29 will be their night in York at the Barbican.

In the lead-up to the March and April dates, Faulkner will release a video of Gone, a fan favourite off the 2015 album, which can be viewed online at vimeo.com/203284132/74d40261e0 from tomorrow.

Never one to hang around, the Reigate singer, songwriter and percussive guitarist will release his sixth album towards the end of the summer, a decade since his chart-topping, double platinum-selling debut, Hand Built By Robots.

His latest collection of songs will use the PledgeMusic platform, as Faulkner explains: "For this next record, I wanted to get the fans really involved again; trying to find a balance between 2013's Studio Zoo, where I streamed the whole recording process live, and making a normal record where fans just hear the end result. PledgeMusic is a great platform to meet in the middle, as it involves fans from the very beginning.”

Mike Hemsley, the PledgeMusic campaign manager for the project, adds: "We’re delighted to welcome Newton to our platform and the existing three million plus music fans that make up the PledgeMusic community. We look forward to working with Newton to deliver a top-class campaign for his sixth album.”

Faulkner's direct-to-fan offerings via PledgeMusic will include "exclusive merchandise and experiences", such as a "very special and intimate" Newton Faulkner show at the London Hospital Club next Wednesday.

Through Pledgemusic, Faulkner fans are invited to pre-order the new album and to be involved in the process, but they are not being asked for money upfront to make the record. Further information can be found at pledgemusic.com/projects/newton-faulkner-new-album
