FOLK storyteller, songwriter and guitarist Blair Dunlop will play Selby Town Hall on February 4 on his ReGilded Tour.

Last night Dunlop performed live on Mark Radcliffe’s BBC Radio 2 Folk Show, playing songs from his May 2016 album Gilded, his third studio set.

Released on Gilded Wing Records, Gilded attracted BBC radio play for its two singles produced by Ed Harcourt, The Egoist and 356. Next month Dunlop will perform songs from all three albums in a stripped-back fashion, accompanied by regular musicians JJ Stoney, on keyboards and vocals, and Fred Claridge on drums and vocals.

Last year was an exciting one for Dunlop, the son of Fairport Convention's Ashley Hutchings. He embarked on a British headline tour, made his Glastonbury debut and had a busy summer on the festival circuit, playing Bluedot, Cornbury and How The Lights Get In.

Gilded followed his 2014 release House Of Jacks and his 2012 debut Blight And Blossom, which brought him the BBC Radio 2 Folk Horizon Award. Each album is marked by life-affirming lyrics and his latest record on his own record label remains true to his folk roots lyrically while continuing to push musically into new areas.

Dunlop, who has settled in London, is looking forward to heading to Australia for a tour and festival appearances and will be making his way to America later in the year for more shows.

Tickets for Dunlop's 8pm Selby gig cost £13 on 01757 708449 or at selbytownhall.co.uk or £15 on the door from 7.30pm.
